Banana Smoothie made with Saunders' Malt Extract

2 tablespoons Saunders' Malt Extract
1 cup (250 ml) milk
1 large banana, peeled and chopped
1 scoop vanilla ice cream (optional)
1 pinch ground nutmeg or cinnamon, to serve

Make 1

Blend 1 tablespoon of the malt extract, milk, banana and ice cream, if using, until frothy.

Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of malt extract around the inside of a chilled glass and pour in the milkshake. Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon and serve immediately.

Variations: • Chocolate - add chocolate ice cream or a tablespoon of chocolate topping and sprinkle with grated chocolate. • Choc bar topping – top with crushed caramel malt chocolate balls or chocolate honeycomb. • Chocolate biscuit surprise - add one of your favourite chocolate cream-filled or chocolate coated biscuits to the blender for an extra flavour explosion.

Same here - thanks Saunders! I just tipped mine into a jar and still good. The banana milkshake recipe is really nice with cocoa added.

Hi, I just got a bag of malt extract from our show. It has a recipe on the pack. When I open the bag if I just want to use a couple of spoons in a milk shake how is it best to store it and how long will I have to use it once open.
